What we make
sudokupuzzles.games is the site behind our version of Sudoku. The product is a single-player logic puzzle: fill the 9×9 grid so every row, column, and 3×3 box holds the digits 1 to 9 exactly once, using deduction rather than trial and error.
We are not an app-store publisher and we do not require a download. The game is the website. That choice keeps load times short, works on phones and desktops, and avoids an account wall. Your current puzzle, best times, and streaks live in local browser storage on your device.
Rules, the mistake limit, and the difficulty levels described in our how-to-play guide and FAQ match this exact build of the game.
Our story
sudokupuzzles.games is not a content farm or a meta-game wrapped in ads. It is a puzzle with a clear fantasy: one grid, one rule, and a time you keep chasing.
The puzzle began as "Number Place" in a 1979 US magazine, designed by Howard Garns. Japan’s Nikoli picked it up in 1984 and named it Sudoku — "single number". A generator built by Wayne Gould put it in The Times of London in 2004, and it became a global daily habit almost overnight.
sudokupuzzles.games is an independent implementation of that same, unchanged ruleset, rebuilt for a modern browser: a generator with a guaranteed-unique solution, smart pencil marks that prune themselves, one-cell hints, step-by-step undo, and a layout that fits a phone in portrait.
We build for players who want a pure logic puzzle they can open anywhere — phone on the couch, laptop between meetings — and feel real progress without clutter. The job of this site is to keep that experience sharp, fast, and free.
What we stand for
Open the page and a puzzle is waiting. No account wall, no download, no tutorial that talks over the fun — pick a difficulty and go.
Every board is generated and then checked to have exactly one solution. You never need to guess, and you can never be trapped by an ambiguous grid.
Your current puzzle, best times, and streaks live on your device. We do not hold your progress behind a login or sell a "premium" difficulty.
The full game is free forever. No timers gating puzzles, no ads breaking a solve, no surprise paywalls. If you enjoy sudokupuzzles.games, that is the whole product.
Who it is for
sudokupuzzles.games is a family-friendly, single-player game with no chat and no in-game store. It is a poor fit if you want multiplayer or live events. It is a good fit if you want a genuine deduction puzzle you can pick up anywhere.
A puzzle can take four minutes or twenty-five. sudokupuzzles.games is built for a phone on the couch or a browser tab between tasks — and your game is saved if you leave mid-solve.
There is no twitch-reaction requirement. The timer runs, but every move is yours to consider for as long as you like. The challenge is entirely deductive.
Best times and streaks stay on the device you used. That is a deliberate trade: instant play, no cloud restore. We would rather skip the sign-up wall than pretend we host your history.
Why this site
Sudoku is a well-known puzzle with countless sites hosting it. This one exists to ship one honest, fast version — verified puzzles, self-cleaning notes, and no clutter.
Plenty of Sudoku pages serve puzzles from a fixed list or without checking. Every puzzle here is generated fresh and confirmed to have a single solution before you see it.
Place a confirmed digit and that candidate is erased from every cell in its row, column, and box automatically — the tedious bookkeeping that makes hard puzzles error-prone on paper.
No auto-playing video ads, no fake "install our app" banners, no dark patterns around the mute button. The how-to-play guide, tips, and FAQ describe the exact engine you are playing.
How we build
sudokupuzzles.games runs entirely on the web. Puzzle generation, uniqueness checking, and solving all happen on your device. That means fast loads, keyboard and touch controls, and progress that stays local unless you clear your browser data. We use lightweight analytics to see what helps players — never to gate the game behind a profile. The same engine that runs on the home page is the one described in our public rules pages.
Desktop and mobile share the same board. Click and type, or tap the on-screen pad and tool row — whatever fits the device in your hand.
Your in-progress puzzle, best times, and streaks per difficulty are stored locally. You own the continuity of your solve without signing up.
We watch aggregate usage through Google Analytics to improve pacing and polish. Details live in our Privacy Policy — never as a sales pitch.
